Founded in 1994, Jinmailang is one of China's leading companies in the food industry. While their Lao Fanjia non-fried series has been well-received by consumers, the brand's image has remained stagnant since the 1990s. Ramen Fan aims to break this perception and create a more authentic instant noodle brand.
The material used for Ramen Fan packaging primarily consists of ivory board or PET film. The bowl-shaped structure, along with the red and white two-color thick stripes on the edge of the cover, creates a unique form and decorative appeal. This design not only enhances the product's visual appeal but also allows for easy identification from a distance.
Measuring at Width 138mm x Depth 138mm x Height 110mm, Ramen Fan's specifications ensure a compact and convenient packaging solution for instant noodles.
With keywords like Japanese, Tonkotsu Ramen, Tiger Pan, High End, Food, environmental protection, and Snack Packaging, Ramen Fan encapsulates the essence of Japanese cuisine while catering to the demands of a modern, environmentally conscious audience.
The creative team behind Ramen Fan includes Tiger Pan as the Creative Director, Longfei Xiao as the Graphic Designer, Kelin Tan and Sijia Liu as the Image Editors, and Zhangkun Xie as the Technical Director.
The bowl-shaped structure and the red and white two-color thick stripes on the edge of the cover not only create a unique visual appeal but also ensure easy recognition on the shelf. Ramen Fan's packaging design achieves "identification ten meters away," making it stand out among its competitors.
The project was completed within a timeframe of 3 months, with the design phase taking place in Shenzhen and production in Beijing Province.
One of the main challenges faced during the design process was to overcome the traditional perception of Asian instant noodles as being of lower quality. Ramen Fan successfully addresses this challenge by presenting a fresh and modern image that attracts consumers' attention in various retail environments.
The design of Ramen Fan incorporates gold stamping to print lines and selected elements, adding texture and a refined feeling to the overall presentation of the packaging. The lucky cat, a symbol common in the Asia-Pacific region, is transformed into an adorable IP image, while the shop sign-style font design and energetic product imagery maintain a consistent consumer memory.
Ramen Fan's innovative packaging design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
